さしさわり【差し障り】

〔支障〕 an obstacle; a hindrance; an impediment; an obstruction; 〔まずい影響〕 an adverse effect; offensiveness.

●差し障りがある[ない] have an [no] adverse effect

・差し障りがあるといけないから in fear of causing offense; for fear of giving offense 《to…》

・差し障りがあったらごめんなさい. Pardon me if my remarks give offense to any of you.

・ちょっとそれは差し障りがあるので申し上げられません. I'm sorry, but it wouldn't be appropriate for me to say.

・差し障りがなければ教えてほしい. I'd like you to tell me, as long as there's nothing to prevent you from doing so.
